Living a Healthy Lifestyle
Living a healthy lifestyle can be quite the challenge for some people.  With all the daily challenges we already face like getting to work on time, feeding the kids, taking the kids to and from school, walking the dog, cleaning the house, birthday parties, family events, mowing the grass, washing the car, taking phone calls from grandma (that can last for hours).. I mean the list goes on and on and on! We as humans are very busy and how do we possibly find time to take care of our self?
We have to find the time, and there's always a way! Its about setting goals.. Weekly goals, monthly goals AND yearly goals. And we gotta hold ourselves accountable! Stick to these goals!! Like life depends on it, because it does! Every mile we walk on the treadmill is gonna add a little bit of time on to our clock. The clock is counting down and if we aren't doing something to add time to it, then we might as well be taking time away from it! Eating fast food and trans fats are literally taking time off of our clock, because it's clogging our arteries. Trans fats raise bad cholesterol levels and lower good cholesterol levels, not good! I can't stress how important it is to drive right past that fast food place and act like they don't even exist.

The grocery store is our best friend!  Every grocery store will have all the things we need to make the healthy meals, that help us live a healthy lifestyle. Making these healthy meals can be a challenge however, because it takes time to go to the store, it takes time to look up recipes, and of course, it takes time to make these meals. We gotta find simplicity, whether its making a monthly meal schedule or signing up for a meal delivery service (that will literally bring the food to the door.) Whatever is best for the individual and makes sense.
We're not always gonna have time to make some gourmet meal that takes hours of preparation.  Sometimes we gotta just make all the same stuff we made last week, as long as its a smart choice, low cholesterol, low carbs, high protein.. At least it will be quick and easy because we just made it the week before, so it's still fresh in our mind.  The more we make these healthy meals (that can come from literally anywhere, find them in books or online), the easier life will become, because these recipes become ingrained in our mind. They basically become our own personal recipes.  With time comes perfection, perfecting the quality of the food, the time it takes to make it, and overall building a library of healthy eats right in our own kitchen.

Some people live by the simplicity of having a meal delivery service, it can literally make life so much easier.  When I say meal delivery service, i'm talking about the company's that send weeks of fresh food that the individual then prepares under the company's direction. It's easier for some people to basically be told what to make and the food just shows up on the doorstep. Just gotta follow the directions and throw it in the oven usually. This takes time away from shopping at the grocery store, and time away from browsing online trying to find some new recipe.  My two brothers live in Texas and they share a house. They would spend a ton of time at the grocery store trying to figure out what to make because they just don't know what to make.  They want to live a healthy lifestyle and stay in shape, but half the time they just order some food, and a lot of the time it isn't healthy.  (However, there are a lot of healthy choices that can show up at the doorstep hot and ready with all the delivery services now days, but that can be very expensive!) They eventually decided to try the meal delivery service and it has changed their lives!  Every meal is healthy and all the time and hassle trying to orchestrate what meals to make and when to go shopping, all went out the door!  That is what we gotta do, take problems off the table to focus on something else. Like I said before though, a meal delivery service is not for everyone.  Maybe someone else really enjoys shopping at the grocery store and making their own meals, and maybe they're fast and efficient with it. The main thing is just finding simplicity in the things we do everyday to make life easier.

Finding time to get to the gym can be a whole different beast to tackle.  We still gotta figure out how to incorporate a workout routine into our busy lives. Some people think of a workout routine and think they gotta go to the gym and stretch for 15 minutes, and workout for an hour and a half.  No way!  No one needs to be in the gym that long.  That is a schedule for someone who is passionate about the gym and looks forward to it. Most people do not look forward to the gym. Most people just want to get in there and get a quick workout in and break a sweat. If we can just get in there and stretch for 5 minutes, hit a 30 minute workout and be on our way then awesome!  Maybe a 5-15 minute drive there and back so say 30 minutes of driving tops...We're looking at taking a total of 1 hour out of our day. So the trick is to just be quick, remember that we gotta get home and make dinner, or get to work or whatever we might have going on...don't get caught up talking to people in the gym. Put some headphones in and get in a zone and remember to stay on track to spend a total of one hour away from the house.  Also, always have a gym bag ready to go. Have all the stuff necessary in that bag ready to go. Bring it in the car and have it, so the second we get off work we don't have to run home. When we operate this way we will find that it is not that big of a deal to take one hour out of our busy day and that it is totally possible!

Like I said before, it's all about finding simplicity.  Make it easy so its not too hard to stick to. When things take up too much time they become difficult, and when things become difficult they get left behind. There's things people take more seriously then going to the gym and that's making money. If we're getting to work late, or waking up late because we spent too much time at the gym it's gonna become something we don't enjoy. Who cares about being in shape if we don't have our bills paid. No one wants to be a really fit and healthy homeless person, lol.. Just like I said before, we just gotta find simplicity in the process of going to the gym.  Figure out every possible way to save time and make life easier, because that is the answer to having success sticking to a routine. Never forget how much all the positives out weigh the negatives. We're adding time onto our life, we're stronger, we have better balance and flexibility...We feel younger, and also we're gonna look and feel better!  When that summer trip comes, it will be that much more exciting!  It's gonna be

USE THE PROPER WEIGHT!
We cannot stress how important it is to use the proper weight. This might be the most important fitness tip one can give, or receive!  When someone is in the gym throwing around weights that are too heavy, all they're doing is stressing their muscles and joints. They might be getting in some kind of overall workout as they are sweating (most of the time) but usually they are just wasting their precious time that I talk so highly of. If we're going to take the time out of our busy day to go to the gym, we might as well do it right. right? If it feels the least bit too heavy, like its going to be hard to exercise with proper form, then get a lighter weight. I remember working out in my younger days and wanting to be lifting weights similar to the weights people my size were lifting. Come to find out, they were using too heavy weights most likely. It's not cool to lift heavy, it's cool to lift smart! So we can be back in there tomorrow, and the next day, and next week! The people who really look cool and know what they're doing are the people using the smaller weights, and using perfect form. Perfect form is another fitness tip that falls very closely under the fitness tip of using the proper weight. The way to get results, and to get them fast, is to exercise perfect form and do controlled reps. That way we can really focus on the muscle group we have come to work on.

Another major reason to exercise with the proper weight, is to prevent injury. I couldn't imagine going to the gym and having a major muscle injury right there in front of everyone because I chose to use weights that were too heavy. Every time I see people in the gym using huge weight (and they definitely should not be) I always wonder if and when they're gonna have an injury. Because it's only a matter of time! We can only stress our muscles for so long before they give out. Anther thing that can happen that people never think of is say they are using too heavy weight say doing squats or leg press, the amount of pressure they're exerting on themselves can literally blow blood vessels in their head. It might sound crazy but it's possible. It's like a month long headache. and who knows if there will be a full recovery. There are plenty of reasons to use the proper weight, what if people only knew that when actors are training for a major role where they need to gain major size fast, part of their routine is definitely using proper weight! They definitely are not in there throwing around weights that are too heavy!

Be smart and use the right weight next time visiting the gym for a workout. Whether its upper body or lower body, be smart and get in a good workout. Don't worry about what anyone else in there is doing! Stay smart, Good luck! Live a healthy lifestyle and it will be
